For Jim's long-awaited story anthology, Crystal gave the cover the look of tooled leather with contrasting leather "corners" and "spine tape." The spine has the look of a gold-embossed treasury edition, which this collection of stories definitely is!

The inspiration for this fantasy novella was a bronze statue in front of the Read Leaf Bookshop in Springerville, Utah. Jim photographed the statue while visiting his family there, and it needed only titles to make it a striking book cover.

A summer thunderstorm and a field of sunflowers were stock photos composited together, and the ghostly image of "Job Codger" is a line drawing by Dr. Lynn McConnell (used by permission) dominating the scene.
